“In Quiet Tears, I Will Remember”

As a mother, so many times I found myself in the darkest of places, alone at the kitchen sink…it would be late in the evening, when everyone was finally asleep, that I would find myself standing amidst mounded dishes and a dirty kitchen.
Whirling with aggressive  postpartum psychosis, the rage of seemingly constant marital trauma…just breaking.
Quietly seeking to serve my family, with a clean peace filled space to wake…
I would lean over the counter with so much exhaustion in tears, verbalizing aloud to the Lord, “I have no strength left in me”…and just weep.
This is the place where the Lord would stand with me.
He would help me wash each dish…and when I realized that I actually finished, I would step back and say, “that was only because of you Lord”, slip into the bed and cry quiet tears that only He knew.
Mama, he sees you. It’s in these moments that Jesus holds your weary arms and broken hands-in you-giving you the grace to make it just a little  further…
”His eye seeth every precious thing.”
“He seeth our frame He knows that we are but dust.”
 “He is nigh you even upon your lips.” 
And I could go on…these and others are written into this piece, to serve you, as you read and speak aloud to your soul, “In quiet tears, I will remember”.
The setting of this piece was intentional, for you mama at the kitchen sink, for you to look up at the reflection of his word and know, His promises~ His word will not return void…it will accomplish what He intends for it to do, for His glory in the earth to be made manifest~in us, his people, his daughters.
And He wants to reveal it in you…be encouraged.
It won’t be dark forever, the dawn is coming. Rest your heart in his embrace.
